The President got acquainted with the educational process at the University of Public Security
The President of Uzbekistan got acquainted with the educational process at the University of Public Security, established in 2021. It trains personnel for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard, the Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies, as well as specialists in jurisprudence, economics and psychology.The President of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the University of Public Security on Thursday, his press service reported.
The university was established by a decree of the head of state dated April 2021 on the basis of the Military-Technical Institute of the National Guard. It trains personnel for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard - in the areas of public order, road safety and the passport system, as well as for the Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies - in the field of military diplomacy, jurisprudence, economics, engineering and technical, educational and psychological and command and tactical activities.
Admission to the university began in the 2021/2022 academic year for 15 bachelor's and 8 master's degree programs. Today, more than 1,000 cadets are studying in the bachelor's program, the same number of young people are studying in special programs, in the correspondence department and in the master's program. Classes are taught by 209 teachers, professors and doctors of science.
In addition to cadets, students in the fields of jurisprudence, economics and psychology also study here on a general civilian basis. Graduates serve in the units of the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensure public safety and maintain public order. Specialists are also trained for state and economic management bodies that have their own security structure.
The head of state got acquainted with the conditions at the university, the academic buildings of which have been overhauled in recent years. A sports complex and an educational and methodological situation center have been built. Six dormitories have been renovated, each with 300 beds.
In a conversation with officers and students, the President noted the importance of introducing dual education, as well as adapting the curriculum to modern challenges and threats.
The two-story sports complex has a swimming pool, a gym, a crossfit room, boxing and all-around areas. In the large sports hall, along with gymnastics, mini-football, handball, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, there are classes on high-altitude training and evacuation.
The spirituality and education center has an assembly hall for 500 people, a separate room for military orchestra classes, a patriotism museum, and a psychological center. The head of state watched the creative performances of the cadets.
