Uzbek and Indian military forces have launched joint exercises in Namangan
This year, the exercises are taking place at the Gurumsaray training ground and will last until April 25. They are held annually alternately in India and Uzbekistan. The previous ones took place in April last year at the Foreign Training Node training center in Aundha (Pune, India).
This year, about 60 military personnel are participating in the exercises from the Indian side, including 45 soldiers of the Mahar regiment infantry battalion and 15 representatives of the Indian Air Force. On the Uzbek side, approximately the same number of military personnel from the ground forces and air force are involved.
The purpose of the exercise is to develop military cooperation and increase joint capabilities for conducting operations in semi-mountainous areas. Particular attention will be paid to physical training, joint planning, tactical actions and basic skills in the use of special weapons. It is also planned to develop a unified algorithm for interaction between the command and control structures of both sides when planning and conducting joint operations.
