The University of Military Security and Defense is being created in Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals for reforming the military education system, the press service of the head of state reported.

The presentation was held as part of the implementation of the instructions given at the meeting of the Security Council on February 21.

Based on the study of the experience of more than 20 foreign countries, a new national model has been developed to ensure a comprehensive modernization of military education.

According to the proposals, the University of Military Security and Defense will be established on the basis of the Armed Forces Academy. It will include all educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense — five institutes, the Higher School for Sergeant Training, as well as the School for Aviation and UAV Specialists (with institute status).

The creation of a centralized vertical structure is aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the troops, expanding dual education, and implementing scientific developments in practice.

At the Higher School for Sergeant Training, a new system will be introduced to develop leadership skills, and train in modern weapons and tactics.

In addition, a hybrid "2+2" training model will be introduced for narrow specialties. Second-year students of civilian universities will be selected for 18 specialties, including psychologist, signalman, supply officer, and storekeeper.

A state scholarship of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief will also be established for graduating cadets. Its holders will have the right to enter the master's program of a military university without exams within five years after completing their bachelor's degree.

Moreover, a dual degree system — in both civilian and military professions — will be introduced in 36 areas, allowing servicemen to continue active careers even after service.

For the training of teaching staff, military educators will undergo training abroad.

The President approved the proposed initiatives and gave instructions for their practical implementation.
