Cybersecurity services will appear in the commercial banks of Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Tashkent - AN Podrobno.uz. Each commercial bank and all its branches in Uzbekistan should create an information and cybersecurity service. The new division will protect information assets, prevent illegal changes in payment data and reduce risks for the bank and its customers.

This is stated in the provision "On the minimum requirements for information security and cybersecurity of commercial banks of the Republic of Uzbekistan", which is registered in the Ministry of Justice on August 18.

The bank is obliged to develop and approve an internal information security policy. New services should prevent errors when setting up databases and limit the following actions of attackers:

  • access to the database and to the system files of the bank;
  • obtaining passwords of administrators and users;
  • installation of malicious software;
  • Remote database attacks and server.

The cybersecurity service will analyze the electronic reports of the inter-sewn screens and proxy servers and immediately inform the Central Bank about all cases of external attacks.

Earlier it was reported that the Central Bank plans to ban banks and microfinance organizations to impose loans in excess of the required amount to borrowers. Before registering a loan, customers will receive a checklist with information about all possible risks.
